Scott Bertram was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, where he currently resides with his wife, Amy, and his son, Ford. From an early age, Scott was drawn to the artistic process and in 1997, graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor's degree in Art. He is also a Michigan classroom certified teacher for grades K-12. He was a high school art teacher for 7 years and has also been an instructor at Jackson Community College.

As a high school art teacher, Scott covered a variety of subjects, including Photography, Computer Animation, and Traditional Fine Art. After the birth of his son, Scott decided to leave teaching and pursue a career in Photography and Art while being at home to care for Ford, this lead to the creation of Scott Bertram Art and Photography.
