Custom Artwork
One of the wonderful things about art is that it can take on so many different forms and methods of expression. Art can be very deep and meaningful, political, narrative, light hearted and humorous, inspirational, or even used for commercial applications. We offer a wide range of services available to clients seeking custom artwork, including many forms of decorative art, commercial art, and portraiture.
With a lifetime of experience, (including 7 years as a high school art teacher) Scott Bertram personally creates each work of art with an eye for design, detail, and natural flow within an image. Styles can range from sophisticated fine art to bold contemporary or even sequential comic-book style art. We use a variety of colors and mediums, carefully choosing the tools that will provide the best method of expressing the feeling or idea for which the piece was intended.
Choosing an artist to create an image based on clients' thoughts, feelings, or ideas is not a new phenomenon. It has been happening for thousands of years, yet choosing the right artist for the job is still a deeply personal decision. If you are considering the commission of a work of art, you should consider the following:
The artist only knows what you tell him.
If you have a specific idea that you would like committed to paper, canvas, or another form of media, it is important to provide details that will enable the artist to render your thoughts in the form of a picture, sculpture, or image. Sometimes it helps to provide pictures of similar types of art, or if it an original idea, even a stick-figure sketch can provide clues to help the artist to give you what you want. The more details that the client can provide, the closer the artwork is going to be to the image they desire.
Be open to variation.
Sometimes it is possible for each of us to have conflicting ideas within our own minds concerning how an image or piece of art ought to look. Artists often have to make decisions concerning color, design, perspective (etc.) as they work. Sometimes an idea that seemed concrete in the original conception of a piece of artwork just doesn't work in application. Often, the artist must make slight adjustments in order to account for these variables and still provide the kind of artwork that the client has commissioned. We will always keep you informed and as involved as you want to be in the artistic process.
While most of our work consists of two-dimensional media, three-dimensional sculpture is available upon request.
